People take up drawing for a variety of reasons. Fuelled by different goals and different emotions, people often get different results of their art. Some of the reasons of drawing for people are:
- Scientific study – Even now, some people tend to draw their observations instead of taking photographs. You see, some subjects, especially animals, tend to be startled by the sound or light caused by a camera. Some relics and plants are also sensitive to light, which means they can be damaged by picture-taking. Drawing subjects can often allow a scientist or a student to examine the little details of an object better. Drawing something also draws the eye of an observer to little idiosyncrasies that would otherwise be overlooked by the casual observer.
- Release from pressure – Some people draw not objects, but emotions. These people draw what they are feeling by using common images that can be associated with the emotion they are trying to portray. Drawing can serve as a release for people who feel the pressure mounting on them. In fact, all artists create because of their need to cry out their problems to the world. Writers also act the same, pouring their emotions into paper just seems to release them from their anguish, their pain, their frustration and their anxiety.
- For fun- others draw for the fun of it. They draw because they enjoy it. It does not matter if the drawing is good or bad, what matters is that they had fun creating it. What matters is the fact that they lose themselves in the image.
Now we have seen the different reasons why people draw. But why do they engage in drawing Koi fish?
You see, Koi fish can have a profound meaning if one so chooses to look past the physical appearance. Koi fish drawing is very profound, especially if you intend to capture the symbolic meaning of the fish on paper.
- Playfulness – Some people engage in drawing Koi fish in order to portray playfulness and energy. They try to capture the motion of the Koi fish darting about in the water in search for food. They might want to capture the mood of the Koi fish at play or even try to compare it to human behavior. You see, children are playful because they have very little care. When we turn into adults, we lose that innocence because we face the harsh reality of life.
- Energy – Some artists try to capture energy in drawing Koi fish. They try to portray how much strength the Koi fish has and how fast it zips from place to place in the water. They try to capture the motion of the Koi fish as though it was some sort of tribute to the lightning gods.
- Persistence – Did you know that Koi fish actually has the strength and persistence to swim upriver? Artists use drawings of Koi fish swimming upriver as a sort of tribute to the human persistence. They do what seems to be impossible and keep at it until it is second nature to them. While it is said that Sisyphus was punished by having to roll a boulder up the hill, other people would interpret him as being a happy man, trying to accomplish what no one else would attempt.
